We had a big family get-together for Grandma's birthday today~
She's... uh... old? Well, not old, but older. I don't know how much-- er, well, I mean I know she's a year older because it's an annual thing but I mean I don't know her exact age but the point is she gained some exp and we're celebrating another level up. \o/

'Sides, she doesn't really act that old, so she's obviously not too old.

But anyway I've kind of been dreading today because the last family occasion we had at our house (which was Christmas, by the way) involved lots of my cousin's little children running around messing with my stuff. B|

And then I had to reorganize my entire room and glue an eye back on one of my stuffed animals and I was not a happy person that day. :|
Also, a model of a T-Rex skull is not a toy. At least with like, a figure of a cartoon character, yeah, I can see that. But a DINOSAUR SKULL? SKDJFJD DON'T. TOUCH IT. GOD. IT'S ON THE TOP SHELF FOR A REASON. HOW'D YOU EVEN GET IT DOWN I DON'T EVEN. DX

So today was I was all like, in defense mode, prepared to hold my position in front of my room and take down any little rugrat that thought they were getting into my fortress of awesome things.

But then my cousin walks in with her eldest kid and she's all like, "So he's into Pokemon now and he heard somewhere that you're into it or used to be into it, so can you show him your stuff?"

And I'm like, "FUCK YES."
Except not really because he's like five but you know what I mean.

Actually I was more like, "...All of it? Are you sure? That could take DAYS." ._.;;

So I showed him all my old Pokemon cards and my games and stuff~
Apparently he plays with the cards with his friends, but considering they can't really read them entirely yet and he was determining damage by haphazardly adding and multiplying the attack damage numbers together, I'm pretty sure they're making the rules up as they go. =A=;;

He wanted to do a card battle but I declined because I was like, "WTF YOUR RULES MAKE NO SENSE."
Except not really because he's like five but you know what I mean.

Actually I was more like, "What is it with you and math? kdjsflkjf WHY DO YOU KNOW MULTIPLICATION SO WELL ALREADY."

But I hooked up Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness and we had ourselves some double battles on the television~
I told him he'd have to pick either one of my GBA teams or one of my GameCube teams, and he saw ~EPIC SHADOW LUGIA~ and chose that, of course. So I picked Pokemon Ruby, knowing full well that my level 100 Groudon, level 90 Rayquaza, and level 80 Sceptile would crush my team of level 60-somethings on XD. =3=

He didn't think that was fair and wanted to switch teams after I'd KO'd over half his team. Admittedly, it was kind of a dick move on my part, so I agreed.

So then he got Ruby and I got Gale of Darkness.
I think I actually did pretty well considering what I was up against. I still lost, but I managed to take out half my Ruby team in the process. Then again, the kid has no sense of what Pokemon is what type and type advantages yet, and he can't really read the attack names -- he was choosing them based on type, but not really considering who was using it and what against.  He kept having Groudon use Eruption on my Lugia and Houndoom and wondering why Houndoom wasn't taking any damage while I was secretly cackling over my epic use of Flash Fire + Groudon's Drought to take out my Sceptile in one hit. =3=a

Yes. I can cackle secretly. I'm just that good.

He didn't seem to have any grasp on the concept of "levels" and "raising Pokemon" either. He seems to think that there's just "good" powerful Pokemon and "bad" not powerful Pokemon and that it's static.

When I was showing him my teams I was like, "Wait, lemme get the ones that I trained."
And he was like, "Why, are these bad Pokemon?"
And I was like, "No, they're just young yet."
And he was like, "So does that mean they're bad?"
And I was like, "No, that means I haven't level'd them up yet."
And he was like, "...So they're bad?"

We had a third battle, using the same team set-up as the second battle, but we were forced to quit when we heard news of s'mores. \o/
That, and his mom was like, "Okay that's enough inside time today. B|"
Which is fine, because I was kind of getting exhausted having to explain how certain attacks worked. ._.

He wants to play Shadow the Hedgehog next time he comes. Not sure if want. I guess he has a friend with a game where you can shoot people and like, take vehicles and something about an AK47 or whatever. To be honest, I'd rather not have him play such a violent game. I actually kind of flinched when he used words like "kill" and "hurt" when describing our Pokemon battles. I was like, "Please say 'fainted' or 'KO'd' or 'did damage', pleasepleaseplease? ;;" I guess when I was younger we did say things like, "YEAH I KILLED IT" and stuff when playing Pokemon but FFFFFFFF THAT SEEMS SO INSENSITIVE NOW. ;A;
ksjflkdj I've turned into such a hippie when did this happen whyyyyyyyy

I dunno if his mom wants him playing that kind of violent game either, but Shadow is far more fun to play without the weapons and vehicles anyway so I dunno. I suppose I could just put him on the stage with Charmy in it first and not show him the levels where you hurt humans. /schemes

...Semi-unrelated but for some reason I can beat the neutral storyline in Shadow the Hedgehog, but not the hero one or the dark one. ._.
I am so fail at platformers asdjfdlsj

Buuut yeah~
That was my night~
And I need to start posting these during the day instead of at 1:30 am. ;;
